Reading List
One thing that I've been intending to do for years is to start properly reading again.  By which I mean read more than one book a year.  Not actual books obviously, because the only time I get to read is sitting in the dark feeding a baby and real books don't lend themselves to that particularly well.  But I love my Kindle.

And if nothing else lockdown has kick started me again.  So I thought I'd write up the list of books I've read in the last few months and some thoughts.

Sherlock Holmes - Arthur Conan Doyle
This was the complete works.  It took me MONTHS to finish the whole thing so although I started it way before lockdown happened I didn't finish it until recently so I'm counting it.  I don't think I'd ever read most of the stories before and it's started me off watching the BBC Sherlock again which I'm really enjoying.

Ready Player One - Ernest Cline
A re-read for me, it's a book I loved first time around and really wanted to read again but the whole never reading physical books thing meant that I never really got around to it until I caved and bought it in Kindle form as well.  Just as good second time around. A bit weird to read about a world where everyone basically lives in their own isolated bubble during a lockdown.

A Murder is Announced - Agatha Christie

Another re-read.  I read all the Agatha Christie's as a teenager but couldn't remember the conclusion so I actually got to experience it again which was fun.

Eve of Man - Tom and Giovanna Fletcher
This is a book I've been aware of for a little while, I'm subscribed to their YouTube channels and had heard good things but just wasn't reading enough to get to it.  It was very good.  I stayed up way too late to finish it because stopping mid action wasn't possible, which is always a good sign.

The Eve Illusion - Tom and Giovanna Fletcher
It was so good I immediately bought the second one and continued on.  Very sad that the third one isn't going to be out for another year at least though.

Stardust - Neil Gaiman
I was interested to read this as I've seen the movie.  I'm not sure the book had much more to offer than the movie though.  There was more details and detours but nothing particularly worth noting.

Love Without Borders - Angela Braniff
This is another YouTuber book, in this case a memoir.  This family has an incredible story of adoption and following God's lead, a lot of which I knew from their channel, but to be walked through it step-by-step is both emotional and challenging.

So I'm calling that a lockdown success.

In other updates: we currently have a tiny bit of onion sprouting, a decent amount of broccoli and 4 whole sunflower shoots.  Yet to see anything of the carrots.  And I went to the farmers market on Saturday and bought 3 teeny tiny cucumber plants to add to the collection.
